Tougane is a counsel at TALIENS and a member of the Paris bar. Her practice covers litigation and transactional work in all fields of intellectual property law.

In patent law, she has worked in various fields such as pharmaceuticals (with a particular focus on SPC issues), medical devices, mechanics or telecoms. In trademark, design, copyright and unfair competition law, she has extensive experience in defending brands and flagship products for clients in diverse sectors, including fashion, luxury products or toys and games. Her practice often involves multi-jurisdictional issues.

Prior to joining TALIENS, Tougane worked for more than 20 years in the intellectual property practice of Gide Loyrette Nouel, where she divided her time between clients’ cases and knowledge developing activities, both for internal purposes and for in-house counsels.

Tougane has written on diverse IP-related topics and is notably the co-author of the French chapters of ‘International Licensing and Transfer of Technology : Practice and the Law’ (2008 and yearly updates) and ‘International Trademark Licensing’ (2021) both published by Wolters Kluwer. She is a member of the International Association for the Protection of Industrial Property (AIPPI), where she acts as co-National Group Reporter. In this capacity, she regularly provides updates on French or EU IP cases and legislation in the AIPPI international newsletter.

Tougane graduated from ESSEC business school (‘Grande Ecole’ program). She also holds a legal master degree (DESS) in Industrial Property law from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas and a diploma in law from Edinburgh Law School.
